In 2022, Salud launched the brand new Chichibu 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series, aiming to raise the bar by launching one of the coolest Japanese whisky bottlings ever. 7EVEN Gods of Fortune will feature a total of 7 bottlings that will be released from 2022 to 2025.
Since the Middle Ages, the 7 Gods of Fortune have been worshipped in Japan, especially during the New Year. Each god represents good fortune, but also has certain characteristics and associations.
One of the 7EVEN Gods of Fortune is Daikokuten: the god of trade and prosperity, and he is sometimes considered the protector of chefs, farmers and bankers, as well as the protector of crops. He is also considered a demon hunter – legend has it that the god Daikokuten hung a sacred talisman from the branch of a tree in his garden as a trap to catch a demon. This god is characterized by his smile, short legs and the hat on his head. He is usually depicted with a bag full of valuables.
Edition Daikokuten is bottled at 61.9% and has a total mintage of 187 bottles. This 9 year old whisky has matured in a 2nd fill Bourbon barrel with heavily peated and barrel number #4664. Distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024.
The 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series is in collaboration with WARBB; one of the fastest growing digital and NFT designers of our time.
