Item Description
The 2nd Ardnamurchan Cask Strength Release is a heavily peated bottling. 13,683 bottles came from 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks. The content of these was 87% peated and 13% unpeated and the whole was bottled at a cask strength of 58.1%. As far as we are concerned, this is a fantastic whisky, especially for this part of the year. Batch 09/23 is not on the bottle!
Nose: influences of the rugged coast, peat smoke but also vanilla and fresh citrus peel. Pine forest in the autumn with warm wood.
Taste: maritime peat smoke with ripe apple and pear, again the warm oak and warming black pepper.
Finish: lingering influences of the peat with subtle influences of the sea (weed).
