Le Ragose – Amarone Riserva 2006
Dry red wine

After 50 years of work in the vineyards and in the cellar, the first Riserva of Le Ragose is on the market.

The grapes are harvested by hand, directly in the vineyard during the month of September, and until December they are placed directly on small plateaus, on a single layer. This process is called “Appassimento”.

Fermentation of a special concentrate mass in stainless steel for 18/36 months. Usually this wine becomes an “Ammandorlato” or “Recioto scapá”, which is the historical sweet brother of Amarone. The climate has been hotter and drier for several years, which makes this type of concentration possible. The wine matures for years in Slavonian oak barrels for 10 hl to achieve the perfect evolution of the sugars.

Grape variety: 50% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 20% Corvinone, 10% other authorized grapes.

Alcohol: 16.5 %

Tasting notes: Intense, exceptionally powerful, with black cherry jam, spices and hints of cherry liqueur from evolved sugars. Dense and harmonious, rich, dry but soft on the palate, with silky tannins that allow for a long development in the bottle.

Game birds, Wild goats, Risotto all’Amarone, Gorgonzola cheese, Dark chocolate desserts, Cheesecakes, Hazelnut and almond desserts.

Serving temperature 18°C – 20°C

Alcohol: 16.5%
Volume: 75cl
