The new release from Ardnamurchan has a similar structure to its predecessors. It was made up of half peated and half unpeated whisky. For maturation, 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks were used. This produced a very flavoursome and almost old-fashioned whisky. The whisky was bottled without chill filtration and with its natural colour at a strength of 46.8%. A total of 17,502 bottles were bottled.
Nose Lemon peel and fresh zest welcome the way with the saltiness of the coastal breeze and dense peat.
Taste Crisp green apple and pear rest alongside creamy hints of oak vanilla and toasted barley. Herbaceous notes of seaweed and vegetal peat provide a dry, smoky edge.
Finish Lots of citrus on the finish, with more zesty lemon and candied orange. The peat notes of the harbour remain, softened by earthy vanilla and buttery toasted oak.
