The Amsterdam beer brewery Walhalla was founded in 2015 by Aart van Bergen. Aart started his beer career as a home brewer and soon had the ambition to start as a professional brewer. The Walhalla beers made a name for themselves by winning leading prizes during the Tastiest Bock beer in the Netherlands election and during the Brussels Beer Challenge.
The beers are often named after mythical figures. As they themselves say, they brew "the favorite beers of the gods". Beers the way we prefer to drink them here on earth: powerful, exciting and always thirst-quenching. The labels are also very striking. The artwork for these eye-catching labels was provided by Vincent Sapthu.
In April 2018, Walhalla's taproom and new brewery will be officially opened on Spijkerkade in Amsterdam Noord. After a successful crowdfunding, founder Aart's dream becomes reality.
