The Octomore 14.1 forms the basis of the 14th annual Octomore edition. The 14.1 has matured for five years in first fill ex-American whiskey barrels. You smell smoked vanilla and sweet caramel. Bright citrus, smoke and clear minerality return on the palate, followed by charred oak and beach fire. Toffee and creamy vanilla are balanced with earthy smoke, complemented by bright notes of pear, gooseberry and green apple that add brightness and depth. Roasted coffee and hints of clove and nutmeg emerge, with some soft hints of heather honey.
