Camus Caribbean Expedition is a one-of-a-kind small batch cognac (4,500 bottles) with a double maturation in oceanic and tropical climates. In order to experiment with innovative ways to mature cognac under unusual environmental conditions, Camus selected ten casks in late 2018. These eaux-de-vie were all in their fourth year of maturation. The ship ‘The Gallant’ brought these casks to Barbados, where they were entrusted to Richard Seale, Foursquare’s Master Distiller. He matured the cognac for a year under tropical conditions. The climate accelerated the changes in colour and flavour, creating a unique cognac with a distinctive, highly aromatic flavour.
This Camus Caribbean Expedition opens with intense aromas of banana and pear, followed by spicy accents of cocoa bean, nutmeg and a touch of rancio. The taste has an explosive attack, followed by roundness and elegance. You will experience an aromatic depth with notes of exotic fruit, accompanied by soft tannins.
