The rosé prestige cuvée from Champagne Ruinart, Dom Ruinart Rosé is a blend of the only Grand Cru of Dom Ruinart Chardonnay, supplemented with 15-20% red wine from the Montagne de Reims. Since the first vintage in 1966, this cuvée has been consistently ranked among the best rosés on the market and this 2009 expression is one of the absolute best. Pinot Noir red wine comes from the Grand Cru villages of Sillery and Verzenay and is macerated on the skins for nine days before being pressed, extracting the pink color and soft fruit tannins. Mixing this red wine into the blend creates a rosé with a vibrant, deep coral color.

The nose of this millésime initially surprises with its intense, complex aroma. Accents of exotic fruits (guava) and citrus fruits (blood orange, cedar apple) mingle with floral scents such as violets and roses, with an animalic touch of musk. The aeration reveals a different register with the four-spice accents, which transitions from brioche to orange blossom and orgeade on a background of well-ripened red fruits. The rich taste of the millésime 2009 is particularly full and intense in the mouth. We taste a beautiful scent palette, with fruity, floral and spicy accents. The Chardonnay sets the tone and is at the same time enveloping, direct and soft. During the aftertaste, beautifully structured with an intense power, the Pinot Noir develops a subtle bitterness, accentuated by the light dosage. A ten-year maturation process, deep in the chalk cellars of Ruinart, brings the rich bouquet of this special wine to life.
