First Cask Ardlair 10yo 2014

It is a warming and inviting scent, with notes of dark chocolate and a hint of espresso developing in the background. After a few minutes in the glass, light hints of roasted nuts and orange peel emerge, creating a nice balance of sweet and nutty aromas.

The First Cask Ardlair 10 years old 2014 is a 10 year old unpeated Highlands single malt from the Ardmore distillery bottled by the Dutch independent bottler First Cask. This Ardlair was distilled on 22 April 2014 and matured in first fill sherry hogshead 900544. It was bottled on 8 August 2024 at cask strength of 50.6%, non chill filtered and without added colouring, as a limited single cask release of 180 bottles.

Nose: Fresh red fruit such as berries and cherries is supported by oak, gingerbread spices, fondant, milk chocolate and mint. A real old-fashioned nose with copper in the sun, old leather and cherry pralines.

Taste: This is whisky as it used to be. Deep caramel and chocolate with cherry syrup, old-fashioned candy canes, delicious fresh white herbs with warmer variants further back on the tongue. The herbs from the oak with vanilla pods and pepper at the end, are perfectly balanced by the dark red fruit.

Finish: Here too we enjoy that delicious combination of dark red fruit and warming oak that remains present on the back of the tongue. The fresh herbs make you long for the next glass
