Notes of the year: The wine season began with a very wet winter. January and February were cooler than normal, resulting in late budbreak. Cool, moist conditions continued until just before flowering.
Winemaking: All the grapes are trodden in traditional granite presses, thus achieving unbeatable color and aroma extraction. Quinta do Panascal Vintages are only produced in years in which Fonseca Vintages are not declared, as its wines form the basis of Fonseca's classic Vintages.
Tasting notes: Delicate aromas of marmalade, dates and raisins. Some attractive nuances of resin and spices. The palate is showing some interesting flavors from bottle aging such as licorice, dried plum and leather. Soft and silky mouth. Subtle and elegant wine.
