The success of the Coppola wines in combination with the personal vision of Francis Ford Coppola meant that a place was needed where one could enjoy the best wines with friends in a beautiful environment.

The climate of the Russian River Valley is strongly influenced by the fog that rolls in every evening from the nearby Pacific Ocean. This maritime layer cools the vineyards in the evening from their daytime temperature by as much as 35 to 40 degrees, creating conditions that allow gradual ripening of the grapes and better maintenance of natural acidity for perfect balance. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes and is aged for 7 months in French oak.
