The chestnut liqueur from François Peyrot has a taste with notes of nuts, cinnamon and surprising herbs. Only chestnuts from the natural forests of the Dordogne are used. First they are cleaned and the peels are removed. The chestnuts are then crushed and the distillation process begins. The distillate is mixed with 1 year old cognac, sugar syrup of distilled water is added to obtain 24% alcohol. This liqueur must mature for at least 9 months in a stainless steel tank and is then filtered in a cotton cloth before finally being bottled.
