Frapin Cellar Master Edition No 1 comes from a single cask, specially selected by cellar master Patrice Piveteau for its distinctive character. After aging the blend in limousin oak for over ten years in the “chai Francois Rabelais” – typically a damp cellar that gives the blend roundness and suppleness – he has decided to release this cognac naturally.
The bouquet is both clean and aromatic. The nose opens with revealing oak and vanilla reminiscent of early aging in new oak. Then floral aromas dominate, transitioning to fruity flavors with apricot, citrus, ripened plums and spices. The taste is balanced and lively with a fresh attack, followed by warm amplitude and inimitable roundness, with apricot and ginger. During the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2020 (US), this special cognac was assessed with 96/100 points.
