Lemon yellow in color. Intense scents of citrus, apple and white flowers. Fresh with elegant acidity and notes of almond and hazelnut. Nicely balanced and a persistent aftertaste.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the La Scolca winery, the limited edition La Scolca Gavi dei Gavi Black Label Gold has been bottled.
The name La Scolca comes from the name “Sfurca” which means viewpoint. In the past there was a farm on the land of La Scolca that served as a lookout post. The name La Scolca is synonymous worldwide with Gavi, a superior dry white wine from Piedmont. In the period 1917-1919 the estate came into the possession of the Soldati family. La Scolca is the oldest wine company in the region that is still run by the same family. The wines of La Scolca are internationally praised by many stars and the Gavi dei Gavi “Black Label” was even Queen Elizabeth's house wine.
