Nose: Another autumnal whisky with a distinct character of wet leaves on a winding forest path deep in late autumn. Subtle fruitiness emerges over time, reminiscent of dates, overripe grapes, and plums. There’s an evocative hint of a dunnage warehouse lingering in the background.
Taste: Full-bodied with an initial wave of fruity and sugary sweetness that delights at first. Unfortunately, it quickly fades into a more watery character, dominated by overripe grapes and assorted red berries.
Finish: Medium-long, becoming overly sweet and heavy-handed. The subtle refinement of the nose is now overshadowed by the finish’s cloying sweetness.
Comment: This one leaves me feeling a little claustrophobic.
