The Peyrot family estate, surrounded by vines, is called Logis des
Bergeronnettes, the wagtail, the symbol of
the family. The wagtail is depicted on the
packaging and labels of the bottles. The
estate is located in the best area in the cognac
region, rich in limestone soil. Grande Fine
Champagne Premier Cru de Cognac. 100%
Grande Champagne de Cognac, the location for
top Cognac.
It all started with great-grandfather Jean
Baptiste in 1893 as a winegrower. He
probably felt called to the passion for the
land and the wine. But the real work only started in 1956, when grandparents Jean and Mathilde
started distilling and making cognac. At that time, the vineyard
covered only 7 hectares, over the years the estate was expanded to 25 ha. In accordance with the philosophy of the family spirit,
quality is sought over quantity. As is evident from the use of technology, which takes
ecology and environment into account. Resulting in a method of grass management, the ? Culture
Raisonnée ?, which creates a good harmony between
fauna and flora. This makes the use of pesticides and chemical
control agents redundant. Both the business-responsible policy of the vineyard
and good control of costs are important components in the whole.
