Aged grains: there are only few things that can make us hapier. This 36-year old Invergordon finished her journey on a very active Tawny Port cask. Unmistakable a grain, and a perfect grain that is. The beautiful deep tawny color leaves nothing to the imagination. Just a single whiff will let the beholder know what a true star she is. Old oak. A delightful combination of dark chocolate and blueberries. A very rich old-style character. Raisins. Blood orange. Dried fruits of which apricots are the most prominent. Slightly nutty. A subtle hint of pine forest. What a captivating aromatic experience. Upon tasting it remains thick and treacly. Walnuts, toffee, and even more dried fruits. The influence of the port cask is extremely evident, what a joy. It finishes with a slightly drying sensation with a tiny pinch of black pepper. Wow. Just Wow. We almost decided to keep every drop to ourselves, that's how good we think this is. If you're into the goold 'ol stuff from the good 'ol days? Get running!
