Most of Lavila's wines come from the Languedoc. In addition to three beautiful
blends, two varietal wines are made, from Chardonnay and Merlot. A
strong asset of the Languedoc is the variation in natural conditions. In addition to a
flat part along the coast, it also has hilly areas, further inland. And although the climate is strongly Mediterranean in nature, there are still significant differences over short
distances. Exactly the same applies to the geological
conditions. It offers producers an ideal opportunity to experiment with different grape varieties. Lavila's red and rosé wines come from the warm part of the Languedoc and are
wonderfully soft and accessible. The Lavila Blanc comes from Gascogne, an area
known for its fresh and aromatic wines. This is due to the cool
climate caused by its location close to the Atlantic Ocean.
CLIMATE & TERROIR: A Mediterranean climate with warm summers
and fairly mild winters. The soil is calcareous sandy and red
clay soil full of stones.
VINIFICATION: After pressing, the grape juice is fermented in cooled
tanks. The wine then rests for a short time on its lees (yeast sediment) to
develop beautiful aromas.
GRAPES: cinsault, syrah
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 12.50%
NOIS & TASTE: A Mediterranean thirst-quencher with a light
pink colour. The wine is fresh, light-footed with juicy red fruit and a small
hint of white pepper.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve as an aperitif or with light
dishes.
