In 1876, Tsar Alexander II of Russia asked the Roederer family to create an exceptional wine exclusively for him. A masterpiece of perfect balance, this champagne owes much to its origins of limestone subsoils and the concentration of old vines on the Louis Roederer estate it comes from. Presented to the Tsar in a transparent crystal bottle, it was called Cristal.
