Vigne di Montagna, this is the name of the project of the Nino Negri winery, a selection of vineyards suitable to tell the terroir of Valtellina. An idea that Danilo Drocco longed for, having just arrived in Valtellina in 2018 and realizing the potential of making wine from individual plots.

VINEYARD CA' GUICCIARDI VALTELLINA SUPERIORE HELL 2019

The name Ca' Guicciardi comes from that of the farmhouse in the middle of the Vineyards of Hell, an iconic image of the Nino Negri of the world. A context with small, very sloping valleys and a rock with a color tending to white, a color caused by the refraction of the sun's rays on the protruding rocks, here the temperatures can also be very high in summer. After harvesting and fermentation and aging in large barrels, the Vigna Ca' Guicciardi 2019 underwent another aging in the bottle for one year. A ready-to-drink wine with beautiful ripe fruit on the nose and a fleshy tannin structure, intense on the nose and persistent on the palate with a robust structure, drinkable today but with a bright future ahead.

SASSOROSSO VINEYARD VALTELLINA SUPERIORE GRUMELLO 2019

The favorite son, a unique wine born in the heart of Grumello, a stone's throw from Castel Grumello, owned by the FAI, where there is one of the most beautiful and best restaurants in the area, coincidentally owned by Nino Negri, where a blowing breeze comes from Lake Como, the Breva that ensures that the leaves are always nice and dry. A wine that comes from the scarcity of the soil, the vineyard digs into the small earth and cuts its roots into the mother rock. Nebbiolo that tends to resemble Pinot Noir, with notes of almost crisp fresh red fruit and with a silky and dense and non-invasive tannin. VINEYARD FRACIA VALTELLINA SUPERIORE VALGELLA 2018

The 2018 vintage is that of Danilo Drocco's arrival in Valtellina as winemaker and director of the main cellar from a qualitative-quantitative point of view. Fracia is one of the predecessors of Valtellina, so much so that it has almost eclipsed the Valgella sub-area, which in fact opens from Chiuro. We face the valleys where cold air blows, in the period of the change of season between summer and autumn in this area there is a strong excursion that ends between day and night that will give freshness to the wine with morning fog and frost in the front - harvest phase. The vineyard with colder rocks, maturation is usually delayed by 10-15 days. Altitude of the vineyards between 400/500 meters, average age of the vineyards of 25 years, Wine that also spends two years on large oak with a portion that makes a passage in barrique and a year in the bottle. A Valtellina with a broad and complex profile, spicy and spicy scents on the nose, a nice persistence and a nice juiciness on the palate.
