Trimbach Pinot Blanc
Awarded an 8.5 by Harold Hamersma in the most recent version of the Grote Hamersma. And we more than agree with Mr. Hamersma. What a party this is. Pinot Blanc is sometimes wrongly considered boring and flat. Trimbach proves that this prejudice is nonsense with this white wine from Alsace. Purity is paramount at Trimbach.
Trimbach Pinot Blanc is the most drunk wine
The Trimbach's have a purist vision. For three centuries and 13 generations, the family has produced wines that are structured, long-lived, fruity, elegant and balanced: the celebrated Trimbach style. The family personally takes care of every operation, from planting to harvesting and from vinification to bottling. The origins of the Trimbach family date back to 1626, when Jean Trimbach was recognized as a citizen of Riquewihr. From that moment on, the Trimbach's were known for their winemaking.
The vineyards of Maison Trimbach are all located around Ribeauville (Ribeauville, Hunawihr, Bergheim, Rorschwihr, Riquewihr and Mittlewihr). They benefit from the unique Alsatian microclimate, thanks to the protection of the Vosges, which protects the plain from the rain. The vineyards were planted on the fault line of Ribeauville that broke between the Vosges mountains and the Black Forest 50 million years ago, with a mosaic of terroirs, including the complex calcareous limestone and biodegraded sea shell fossils called "Muschelkalk".
