The Pure Paso is a robust blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Malbec. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes largely from the Shotwell Vineyard in the slightly cooler El Pomar district of Paso Robles and is strongly influenced by sea air from the Pacific Ocean. The Petite Sirah comes from the warmer Estrella and San Miguel districts.

After the harvest in October and separate fermentation, the wine remains on French and American oak for 18 months. Sultry, rich nose of black cherry fruit, black tea, chocolate and licorice. Nice accompaniment to hearty grilled meat dishes, jugged hare and game stew.

FACT: Petite Sirah is a natural cross between Syrah and Peloursin, also known as Durif. In its native France, Petite
Sirah is now almost impossible to find, with over 90% of the world's
plantings in California.
