The third chapter of the legacy series. A five-year-old whisky, aged in Bourbon, American oak Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez barrels. The sherry casks in this new release provide a sweeter, richer taste and a darker color. Bottled without cold filtration or colourants. Slightly subdued peat smoke on the nose supported by hints of orange peel and spicy fruit. A touch of vanilla sweetness and freshly sawn oak. In the mouth the peat returns with a BBQ note. The peaty taste is followed by some pepper, light balsamic vinegar, a fruity sweetness and soft herbs. Fragrant accents of cedar wood and leather, with the sherry barrels adding some depth. The sherry influences are a beautiful light touch and show themselves in harmonious balance with the integrated peat and herb structure of Torabhaig.
