CLIMATE & TERROIR: This 50 year old Tawny comes from the
eastern regions of the Douro Valley where a climate with very
warm summers and cold winters prevails. The terroir has elements of
slate and schist.
VINIFICATION: Taylor's Golden Age is a blend of ports that have
been matured in oak barrels for five decades. Taylor's has one of
the most extensive reserves of very old barrel-matured port.
GRAPES: touriga franca, touriga nacional, tinta roriz
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE: 20.00%
NOISE & TASTE: On the nose elegant aromas of rum and raisins,
cloves, nutmeg and a hint of cracked black pepper.
Plums, quince and apricot dance in the mouth while the
zest of lemon and orange provide a fresh acidity. SERVING SUGGESTION: An excellent companion for many desserts.
Combines well with flavours of figs, almonds and caramel.
Goes perfectly with a crème brulée or a plate of wild strawberries.
