The age of this enchanting port is immediately apparent. It shows the peak that port can reach after long barrel aging, especially when the art of blending is also well mastered. The nose is intense but fine with delicate aromas of butterscotch, dried fig and freshly ground coffee mixed with marzipan and raisin. In the taste you can also taste fresh notes of orange peel and apricot. Hints of vanilla, cedarwood and cinnamon provide a subtle spiciness. This port has a long, silky aftertaste. Very few ports retain so much balance and finesse after so many years of cask aging.
