A 2009 Caol Ila single malt from indie bottler Elixir Distillers, matured in a single hogshead for 11 years, before being bottled in March 2021 as part of its Single Malts of Scotland series. Aromas of peat smoke, coal soot, sea breeze, grapefruit, vanilla sponge and blackcurrant juice fill the nose, complemented by notes of grapefruit, salted cashew nuts, lemon drizzle cake and smoked ham throughout the palate.
