With the Varietal Graciano, the winemakers of Barón de Ley created a special novelty. The wine is part of the 'Varietales' series: three wines, made from three important grape varieties for Rioja. The Graciano grapes grow on the Los Almendros vineyard, located in Rioja Baja, a sub-area with Mediterranean weather influences, at about 450 meters above sea level. The juice ferments for 10 days on stainless steel, and then undergoes malolactic fermentation for 15 days.

The resulting wine is then aged for 15 months in American oak barrels. The end product is a deep, cherry-red wine, with an intense nose of red forest fruit, blackcurrant and vanilla. The wine is full and velvety, but fresh in taste, with beautiful rounded tannins and a long aftertaste. An irresistible companion for red meat, game and hard cheeses.
